About Enter Responses Manually Mode

Enter Responses Manually mode offers teachers multiple assessment options. You can digitally record results from paper assessments by entering responses in Grade View, work side-by-side with students to provide guidance at an appropriate pace, or conduct one-on-one speaking assessments with manual response entry and grading. This flexibility allows teachers to choose the most effective assessment approach for their students' needs.

Assessment Modes: Key Differences

Hide from Student Device:

• Teacher asks questions verbally and records all student responses
• Assessment remains invisible to student
• Teacher utilizes Enter Responses Manually to enter answers and track score

Send to Student Device:

• Student can see assessment on their device
• Student can mark answers directly in Test Taker
• Teacher can record answers within Grade View
• Enables reviewing assessment results together upon completion

Both modes automatically calculate scores as responses are entered.

Steps to use Enter Responses Manually

1. Create an eAssessment assignment.

2. Under the Settings section in the Create Assignment Modal, navigate to Enter Responses Manually and select Hide from Student Device or send to Student Device.

3. Once on the Grade View Page, make sure Enter Responses Manually is selected.

4. Select the student from the student list.

5. Mark the answers for each question based on the student’s response.
