Creating & Modifying a Plan

Creating a Plan can help you track the progress of your instruction each week and customize your lessons according to your students’ needs. You can save your created plans for use throughout the school year, and revisit previously created plans to help guide your instruction.

Create a Plan

Creating a Plan within Benchmark Universe can be completed in just a few steps:

  1. You can get started with creating a Plan by selecting the Create Plan button from the Plan & Teach Home page or the Plan Preview page.

  1. Enter the Plan Name and Instructional Start Date information in the pop-up window that appears and select Create Plan.

Modify an Existing Plan

Creating a Plan within Benchmark Universe can be completed in just a few steps:

  1. To modify an existing Plan, navigate to the Plan & Teach Menu and select Plans.

  1. Ensure the Edit Plans toggle is turned on. Once the toggle is on, you can select a plan to start making edits to the plan.

  1. Selecting the pencil icon will open the Edit Plan Settings pop-up. Here, you can make changes to your Plan Name and the Instructional Start Date.

  1. Selecting the trash can icon allows you to delete the selected Plan. A pop-up window appears once the icon is selected and you must select the Delete button for the Plan to no longer appear in your list.

Customizing Your Lesson View

You have even more options to customize your Plan within Lesson View in Plan & Teach.

  1. Hovering next to any day of the week in Lesson View will show you the More Options Menu. Clicking the More Options Menu gives you the option to add a Non Teaching Day. From here, you can select one or multiple days, depending on your needs.

  1. Hovering in the top right corner of any Lesson Tile will show you the More Options Menu. From here, you can select Customize Lesson View or you can choose to move the selected lesson to a different day.

  1. Selecting Customize Lesson View from the More Options Menu opens the Customize Lesson View side panel. Here, you can select to display duration of lesson and standards information to your lesson tiles.
